Creative Card-Making Event

Service Description

We at Able ARTS Work, Learn for Life are inviting you to join us as we use our creative skills to give back to the community. We are going to be making cards during this virtual event that we will collect and send to the Cardz for Kidz organization. Cardz for Kidz delivers handmade cards to children (and now seniors) who are longterm in hospitals, or live in senior centers, or who may have experienced another traumatic event. Their goal is to bring some fun and joy into partner hospitals across the United States and in some international locations. This is a free virtual event. To join you just need to bring card making materials (see suggestions below) and a creative positive spirit. A Learn for Life art instructor will be there to assist with the creative process. Date: Thursday, June 7th Time: 5pm - 6pm PDT Cost: Free Material ideas (you can think beyond this!): -Cardstock or Construction paper -Pencils, Markers, Crayons -Scissors -Glue -Magazines (for collage) -Stickers -Watercolor or acrylic paint -Stencils -Decorative Tape -Stamps Materials NOT to use: -Anything fuzzy (eg: pipe cleaners, cotton balls, etc) -Glitter -Anything that will fall off easily We are creating are positive and uplifting cards that are applicable any time of year. You can even start thinking of fun things to write inside. Examples are positive sayings, fun jokes, friendship themed. Try to stay away from "get well soon" cards or "hang in there". Also, if you speak more than one language, feel free to think of phrases in languages other than English!

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy – Learn for Life by Able ARTS Work Please be advised that cancellations made up to 7 days before a scheduled class via the scheduling system and an email to learnforlife@ableartswork.org will be processed with a full refund. Cancellations made between 7 and 3 days before a scheduled class via the scheduling system and an email to learnforlife@ableartswork.org will receive a refund of 75% of the cost of the class. Cancellations made 3 days or less before a scheduled class will not receive any form of refund. If Learn for Life cancels a scheduled class for any reason, a notification will be emailed out and all scheduled participants will receive a full refund.
